WELL when someone dies I always think.... were they ready? where did they go? and then i think of what God says we all go through as humans
1. we live in bondage and fear of death our whole life - until we become a believing chrisitan
2. everyone has an appointment with death
3. after that the judgement
so whatever our condition when we fall - thats what our judgment is nd where we go for eternity
bible scripture references that make me think/feel/believe this way
Heb 2:14 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Heb 2:14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
and i WONDER WHERE they went and which is there EXPERIENCE where they are now
Luke 16:19 The Rich Man and Lazarus
"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus , full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27 "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 Abraham said to him,'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31 But he said to him,'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'"
and i think about people i love and i am commanded to love - neighbors. I think about 'friendship evangelism' - and what if they don't GET IT - and die before recieving a proper witness to the saving JESUS and the DEMAND of repentance towards god and faith in the Lord JESUS CHRIST....Prov 27:6
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend , But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Prov 27:6 Wounds from a friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.
and I think about this word and realize by keeping my mouth shut I may cost them their life for eternity. I see that the Lord looks at this differently than the thinking of this age and world. i see that its loyalty and faithfulness to speak the TRUTH even if it wounds - RATHER than to give them many kisses while they are perishing... LETS BE FRIENDS ln line with the truth....lets evangelize with the TRUTH of the word not just 'acting' friendly..... God did not call us to be friends, but to pick up our cross and follow Him - to be His witness - Witness the truth vocally and then be friendly...but keep witnessing until 'faith comes' - BY HEARING and hearing by the word of God....
all the fans - all the 'friends' - I wonder WHERE THESE PEOPLE ARE TODAY.....I WONDER if they were just 'frienship' evangelized or verbally eveangelized??
I wonder??? is there anybody you need to talk about getting right with God
I wonder if any of Michael Jackson's fans, or any of the other celebrity's fans, had ever tried to tell them about God? I often think about celebrities and if they are Christians. Just imagine the impact celebrities who are vocal about their faith could have over our nation, even the whole world? I mean, look at the influence Michael Jackson has, and will continue to have, over American culture and beyond. People are heralding him almost as if he is above everyone - they call him the "King of pop." Just imagine if he had a belief in God, or if he was in fact a Christian, if he had been vocal about it throughout his career?
