If we oversimplify the good news, we can think that just saying a few certain phrases gives people all they need to know to follow Christ.  Let's think about this.  To follow someone is to know them.   Knowing Christ is to see Him, to experience Him.   One of the ways that happens is when we hear and experience Him through his Body.    We have these opportunities to love others, living as Christ lived, and to serve others..   These are opportunities connect 'us' ~ those who know Christ to 'them' ~ those who don't know Christ.

We could call those times when we connect to and serve other 'gateway ministries'.   We all know what a gate is, ministering to others opens a gate for them to come through.    I think one of the most overlooked gateway ministry is the ministry of reconciliation.   One thing that is common to all people is conflict.   We experience it and those we love experience it.   Learning to biblically resolve conflict for myself and then for others is a skill.  If we learn it and help others experience real reconciliation in their conflicts provides a basis for them to understand reconciliation to God.

Could it be that those times of crisis that are unfolding in lives around us are actually unfolding opportunities for reconciliation between people, laying a foundation for reconciliation to God?
