    Juanita:

First we care, then friends will come to stay. We love God because he first loved us! I've heard it said:
"Life is Good" yes that's true, but what is better than life?

I could answer that question, but I'm going to let others send me their answer, then we'll see who knows.
Clue: look up the underlined words in your Bible concordance, and it should tell you.
I will give the answer at the end of the week. In the meantime, Think spring!!
Enjoy my beautiful Endless Summer Hydrangea blooms, and the poem.
    Excerpt from the poem:

THE SNOW IS IN MY HAIR By James Terry White

The snow is in my hair, the frost is in my frame,
The hopes of youth in age can never be the same . . . .

It is to friendship all my votive lays belong,
And no regretful tears shall interrupt this song:

The memory of your ministry my life perfume,
And how can I forget you made the desert bloom?

OK since I haven't gotten an answer: Here is what is better than LIFE!
Ps. 63:3 says, "God's Loving Kindness is better than LIFE." KEEP THAT IN YOUR HEART, ALWAYS, and you will Travel Light Years Ahead. God Bless in Christ.

  • This is something that someone had told me that was one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?' asked the customer. 'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist..
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain!
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'
'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!'
'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'

'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'
  • Good morning, Juanita: I feel the topic of identifying and re-building relationships within the community, and as individuals, is critical to reaching out to those in need. The Lord has made us wondrous beings in His image. Yes, we do have sinful natures, and it's an every day struggle to listen for the word of The Lord as he guides us down the daily path to try to live the type of life he desires for us. I believe we have lost our passion for living a life where we can be fruitful in bringing the Word of God to everyone we come in contact with. It doesn't have to be a monetary help every time, but just think...if we can make a point of giving a hug, a kind word, or blessing someone every day with some small act of kindness, what a difference we could make in the world! We need to slow down and make a conscious effort to help those who are hurting. We can make the greatest impact on getting the Gospel out if people can see how we stand out as an example of how The Lord has worked in our lives and how we are willing to work in the lives of others. Let's get going! We've lost our humanity as human beings. Let's work together every day, in every way, to bring God's word to the lives of every single person we come in contact with, and when dealing in everything we do every day. Blessings to everyone! Chris
