We have a resource center for women:
(info is swiped from the website)....supported by the grants, private donations and in-kind support of individuals and organizations. Through intensive case management with families, support and commnity referrals families move from chaos to stability. Services for families include:
Budgeting/Financial Skills Counseling Referrals Emergency Food and Clothes (this is a food pantry and a clothing closet) Employment Housing and Emergency Shelter Referrals Family Case Management Medicaid, Food Stamps TANF Parenting Skills Training Spiritual Encouragement Support Groups
This is run by trained and qualified employees and volunteers and is managed by a separate Board of Directors.
There are organized community fundraisers for this center and we collaborate with other area churches to fuse breakthrough, recovery and healing programs - so that we can optimize available resources.

April - I had seen a video like that on youtube...but it must have been so powerful and personal in your church yesterday-What a testimony and encouragement it must have been to those who attended your service yesterday.

We have not seen the effect yet...but I do believe that the Lord Jesus is doing a work...
While I was still attending my former church...a gentleman from outside our church joined our prayerwalk and then began to join us as we prayed for the persecuted church...I soon found out that he was an elder at his church...their church asked the other churches in the community to join them in prayer for the community...a few from my church joined them and so do a few from another church...I believe we had a smattering of people from each church in the community...then I left my former church(it was painful) and the elder said that they are not about stealing sheep but if I needed prayer they were there for me...At first I really was not ready but did ask him to ask me again(I did not want to be w/o Christian fellowship)...well I began attending their church (still do)...
I suggested a Women's of the Bible Discussion Series (breakfast/brunch) to meet once a month...the pastor - Your idea go for it...it is open to the community and I send out invitations to the women of my former church-
a few women from the community and a few from my former church have attended...now we have received an invitation to join them(my former church) at their women's breakfast...and a couple of the women from my current church may attend...
It may not seem like much but for some of us who have been seeking unity within the body of Christ...well our hearts are rejoicing...so I guess the most effective thing we do is pray, seek the Lord, extend the invitation toward each other and then obey...
