In the book of Acts we see motivated people who were living out the Kingdom among themselves.

They were doing the things we just covered.  How do we know?  Well, where do you think we got these thoughts... from the New Testament!  We didn't make them up on the spot.

What was the outcome as they lived these things out?

"There were no needy people among them."

Can you imagine being part of a group believers across a community...  and saying, "There are no needy people among us.'

Wow.

Just wow.  People are so needy: at times lacking the basics, lacking good and godly family, lacking forgiveness, lacking solutions to problems they face:  illness and the incapacitating pain of the loss of loved ones, lacking hope, lacking joy, satisfaction, peace.   All of these are what God promises to his people; and so much more!

That is what Jesus had in mind when he taught us:  Seek first the Kingdom and his righteousness and you will have everything you need.

It's what Jesus had in mind when he taught us to pray...

Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

That, my friends, is what 'winning the game' looks like:

His Kingdom being lived out among His people in every sphere of society with the result that there are no needy people among us.
