What should we do? If we don’t know what we should be doing… We will be wasting our time and our resources!
Who - God has one plan. That is that people would be the solution. We spend incredible amounts of time praying that God would be a deliverer, that he would provide the solutions for our communities. It is not going to happen UNLESS....
God has one plan and that is people. We often pray for him to do the job he has given to us to do. It's not going to happen unless we work HIS PLAN.
What is the problem - the sheep are lost. They are hungry and trying to fill that hunger with money, sex, drugs, etc. We need to see people as lost sheep. When we see people as lost sheep, we can love them. If we see them as enemies, we cannot reach them. The power of salvation is the power of love, to love them into what God has already done for them.
The problem... The people out there aren’t the PROBLEM… they are the harvest. They are ready to come in. They are waiting. For? Us -all of us- to be the workers, to do the simple job of "LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS", loving those in front of us, at home, at work, in the neighborhood, etc. By doing this we will see people like sheep who need shepherds, helpers, us serving people as we were designed to serve them and not see people as second class people: goats. We have to see them as no different than us. We have been saved by grace. They have been saved by grace, too. They just don’t know it, yet. :)
Leaders - it is the job of the leader to train people how to love their neighbor and to be the shepherd, to provide care and guidance… where…
Where - what field are you in? Just look around. Jesus said to lift up your eyes and see the people around you. That is where your area of harvest is. Where we ARE is where God has called us to be working. The things that stir you, these are your area of focus. You need to KNOW your area of focus, interest and passion. The harvest is ripe right where you are. And in addition to loving, caring and guiding, God has special things for you to do that relate to the things you are passionate about.
When - when should you go? Jesus showed us… he trained 12 people and sent them out. What are you lacking - the training to know what to do? The authorization to do it?
I can tell you this, Johnny and I needed training! We got some recently. We had NO IDEA how much impact ONE person can make. We’re learning.
Time for action - Together, let's solve the problems of wandering sheep: drugs, sexual ‘liberation’, liberalism, secularism, atheism ~ etc. We can see the problems. God’s solution is simple: Love your neighbor. God is looking for people to care for the sheep and help with solutions to the problems the sheep are getting sucked into.
