What's going on in Iran

I was watching the news last night, and was shocked to hear what's going on in Iran right now. Protesters are getting beaten up and having their lives taken simply for speaking out against a corrupt election. Even worse, the newly elected leadership is doing everything in their power to censor the people of Iran. But guess what? It's not working. Channel One News, which is a news program that airs across high schools in the U.S., handed out 10,000 pens to Iranian citizens that contained hidden cameras and a USB plug to upload the videos to the Internet. These hidden cameras can record up to 20 minutes of video. The Iran leadership found out about the pens, but Channel One News responded by handing out a new hidden camera device that is being kept secret so the leadership doesn't find out about them. Now, what videos are being shown on the Internet are being called "hoaxes" and "set ups" by the Iran leadership! It's very sad to know that even today some countries are without the freedoms and liberties we enjoy here in America. I think we all need to take a moment to really be thankful that we live in a country where we can express our opinions about government leadership. We also need to keep Iran in our prayers! You can watch some of the secret Iran protest footage on the YouTube channel CitizenTube: https://www.youtube.com/citizentube WARNING: Some of these videos are extremely graphic.

  • Esua sold his birthright for a bowl of food....the rivalry continues. It would be great to see restoration of the land to it's rightful owners. Ahhhhh...but that would take humility...and not human-ness.
  • Mo, that is so true! I don't know how much longer our freedoms in America "the land of the free" will last :-(
  • Finding an honest government in these times is about as likely as espousing a gentleman savage.

We, as Americans, should be thankful for our freedoms right now. Especially since there is no guarantee they will continue to exist.
