Maybe just a side note.....
I think the Ministry of Hospitality has been forgotten by most Churches. We all live such busy lives and a bit of selfishness is involved as well!

I learn from my Mom and Dad what a wonderful blessing it was to be hospitable. We were poor but always had friends and Family around. And the center was always "Christ."
( And food)

Now I live in a little dutch town... Friends are always coming and going.... It is such a blessing to share Food and Jesus!

If fell we need to get back to that in our Churches and small groups!

Hi Pat,

That was an awesome story. By accepting that couple just as they are, their walls came down and faith was growing by hearing...that money was invested in the harvest of souls.

I think there is another kind of breaking of bread...

For 20 years were I work, I was an electrician [I am now in H VAC] but I was more controls than running wire.

We are installing new AC system and a contractor asked me what size the feed wire was, I said "I don't know, 3/0 is 200amp" He said, "That's not 3/0, that's #1." He said it in front of a lot of people. I said, "That's good, I'm glad you know."

I didn't understand the purpose of that. The next day, a co-worker who is also a believer asked me to help him with a motor on an air handler. It turned out a wire had slipped out from under a wire nut and he was red faced.

I shared with him the day before and told him I think Satan sets us up to lose focus on the important things and to divide and conquer.

I want to be one of those people that no matter how bad it is, it's going to be better just by my being there because I brought Jesus. No matter how bad of mistake you've made, I've made something similar or worse and by working together with Jesus in our corner, it's going to come out alright.

"Your name is safe in my mouth" will cause others to seek us out when trouble knocks on their door.

So, I think that is a kind of breaking of bread isn't it?

Thanks Pat for sharing,

Mark

When I was leaving our church service on Sunday a friend asked me if my wife and I would like to have lunch with a few families at a local restaurant. My first thought was "no", because I did not want to spend the money and besides my wife already had planed the lunch meal for us, but in the car we discussed the importance of devoting ourselves to the "breaking of bread with other believers", as they did in the book of Acts, so we decided to join the other families for lunch that day. I'm so glad we did because a number of significant things transpired. People shared some beautiful things that God was revealing to them and everybody was spurred on to love God more. There was even a couple that came that have not yet surrendered to Christ but were obviously moving closed to that decision as a result of this lunch we shared together. I realized that we do need to be proactive in breaking bread together, whether it is in our homes or in restaurants because the Holy Spirit uses these moments to connect the body of Christ so we can function properly. We even see our Lord, eager to share the last supper with his disciples and even calls out to all of us in Revelations 3:20  Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
