Breaking of Bread… How often do you break bread with other believers, with Christ in the center? I must say, for my husband and I ~ I can’t say we ever had a consistent time to break bread with other believers with Christ at the center with the exception of gatherings at our workplace that we call ‘Clusters.’ In our home, no… We did have fellowship dinners as part of…Continue

I had a wonderful family koinonia dinner last night- I will give you the cliff notes highlights- my sister was not there as she was away this weekend- significant weekend- she was in our prayers and we had an empty chair for her to remind us all she was still very much part of our family koinonia focus- my mother in law- who is 75- is growing in Christ in amazing ways, a testimony to all those 70+ plus year olds out there who think their work in the kingdom is done- God is never done working in…Continue

As I have shared - we are Breaking Bread regularly on Friday nights. We set a lovely table and have a wonderful planned meal that everyone helps with. We are learning how to Break Bread with Christ in the center. Here is what we are learning - feel free to adopt any of the ideas..1) Celebrate the Lord's Supper. We start by celebrating the Lord's Supper. After that, we pass around appetizers that we nibble on while we continue to celebrate Christ. Here are some of the things we do…Continue

Pat shared this today...Even Jesus wants to eat with us..."Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me." Rev. 3:20Continue

Thanks everyone - great thoughts
Hi Mark, Thank-you for shareing. I think it is so cool that God has devine appointments set up for us to build his Kingdom.
Hi Pat,
That was an awesome story. By accepting that couple just as they are, their walls came down and faith was growing by hearing...that money was invested in the harvest of souls.
I think there is another kind of breaking of bread...
For 20 years were I work, I was an electrician [I am now in H VAC] but I was more controls than running wire.
We are installing new AC system and a contractor asked me what size the feed wire was, I said "I don't know, 3/0 is 200amp" He said, "That's not 3/0, that's #1." He said it in front of a lot of people. I said, "That's good, I'm glad you know."
I didn't understand the purpose of that. The next day, a co-worker who is also a believer asked me to help him with a motor on an air handler. It turned out a wire had slipped out from under a wire nut and he was red faced.
I shared with him the day before and told him I think Satan sets us up to lose focus on the important things and to divide and conquer.
I want to be one of those people that no matter how bad it is, it's going to be better just by my being there because I brought Jesus. No matter how bad of mistake you've made, I've made something similar or worse and by working together with Jesus in our corner, it's going to come out alright.
"Your name is safe in my mouth" will cause others to seek us out when trouble knocks on their door.
So, I think that is a kind of breaking of bread isn't it?
Thanks Pat for sharing,
Mark
