Hope. It’s what drives me, and keeps on driving me. What would I do without it? What would you do without it? True hope is found looking at things from God’s perspective. Hope has to do with the unseen and the future…
“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. “ Colossians 1: 27
If we already have something, why would there be any reason to hope? Hope = Faith. It’s natural for children to trust their parents, even though parents sometimes fail to keep their promises. Our Heavenly Father always keeps His promises. His plan to fulfill them may take longer than we expect. And that’s hard. The waiting is the hardest part (Read “Waiting (It’s the Hardest Part)”). I was recently reading something, I forget where, but it was about how to rekindle the flame of hope in your heart. Through what I was reading, God was saying “Go to My Word and stand on My Promises. Reject your doubtful feelings. All hope is born out of My Promises.”
“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Hebrews 11: 6 “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” Hebrews 11: 1-3
