Creating a Learning Network for Kingdom Builders!

Recently someone told me that they thought that Christian are wimps. I wondered about that. And today I wonder even more.

When Paul was waiting for some friends in Athens, he was PROVOKED by what he saw around him. He immediately went to the synagogue and began to argue with the Jews. He went to the marketplace as well..

I have been on twitter a bit the last few days. I am provoked. Not only with groups like atheists, but also with Christians.

The following quotes are just a tiny sample of what the atheists are posting. These types of posts should be provoking us all!

@plushe The Collapse of Intelligent Design: Kenneth R. Miller Lecture (#p2 #tcot)

Synthaetica. we're 'unglued' on hell becuz god rules by fear and manipulation. your god is a coward. made in his image, right? #atheist

fact3r If his goal is to make everyone worship and believe him, he's losing his own game.

@plushe I think the point is not to convert Juanita, but to keep the debate going so everyone can see how nutty her beliefs really are.

Many of the atheists are arrogant, profane and virtually unchallenged by believers!

My provocation with Christians came when I asked for some help defending attacks on creation. I have over 1500 followers on twitter – most Christian. When I asked for help – what do you think I got? Nothing, except for ONE person! Even the atheists saw it & this is what one of the wrote:

rationalbehavio @rwAtheist the night she was bugging me I saw her ask for help from other theists...none came to her aid though

Nice. Plus – twitter is a public forum. Even this conversation will be passed around and laughed at. Will Christian respond. Maybe. But, probably not. Am I provoked? You betcha.

Many of the atheists on twitter are a close knit club. They comb the web for all kinds of anti-god material and then post it. Continually. Are they challenged? For the most part – NO. Hitler said to tell a lie loud and often enough and people will believe it. Every post they make should be countered. We should be ashamed. The U.S. is going to hell in a hand-basket and too many of us are so busy building our own kingdom – we don’t have time for the Great Commission.

Lets look at some myths that keep us ineffective.

Myth #1. There is a ‘right’ time to tell people about Christ and we need to be on the lookout for it.
Truth: Preach the good news in season and out of season. When is the right time? Always.

Myth #2. If we ‘do it right’ people will come to Christ and everything will be peaceful.
Truth: The gospel is offensive. And, if we share it, we are the offenders. Read Acts. They went to where the people were and told them the truth. This is not popular. They were beaten, stoned and criticized. So?

Myth #3. We’re full of God.
Truth: The test to see if we are full of the Holy Spirit is if we are bold witnesses. I’ve seen thousand of Christian tweets. Few, if any, add the hash tags that will get them read by those who really need them. Here are some great hash tags. #atheist #gay Plus, there are tons of others. When you use these hash tags, you will get attention. And, much of it will not be nice. Be prepared to lose Christian followers. Too many have bought into the lie that we need to be politically correct. Jesus wasn’t.

Myth #4. I can’t witness boldly to atheists and others because I don’t know how.
Truth: None of us can be bold witnesses-ourselves. But God will speak through us if we will open our mouths. Learning to be relevant is a skill. I used humor in my tweets to the atheists – it is a language we all speak. You may do something else. And you may fail, I may fail. I’d rather fail trying to do great things for God than to live a sterile, fruitless life.

Are we wimps? What do YOU think?

I believe that the body of Christ has become lethargic. According to Matt. 5:13 We are the salt of the earth, but we have lost our savor and being trampled under the foot of men (legislatively). I think that sometimes the pro aborts, homosexuals and other radical groups believe more in their causes than Christian believe in the cause of Christ. The church lacks boldness in who we are in Christ. Look at the boldness of the followers of Christ throughout the Bible, yet even Gideon who was not bold when threshing the wheat, God referred to him as a mighty man of valor. We have got to begin to identify with our Lord. We know we stand for truth. We know the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God, then we move out in the convictions that we hold and proclaim truth as God gives us opportunity. I was living in Pensacola, FL when the first two abortionists were murdered. I stood for the Gospel and the truth about abortion when no one else was standing in this community. However, God opened doors and I literally did hundreds of interviews with local, national and international media from March 10, 1993 through Sept. 1994. I used those opportunities to witness to everyone God put in my path, while defending the true pro life position against Paul Hill and saw much fruit as a result. We just walk in obedience and allow the Holy Spirit to work as He sees fit. The key is walking in obedience in the confidence we have in Christ. My prayer is that the body of Christ will be awakened out of its lethargy and apathy and stand BOLDLY for the gospel.
Well said, John. The debate rages so fiercely that often we are drawn into an arena of battle that the enemy has chosen. The Pharisees said many things to Jesus in an attempt to accuse Him of something He would say. As in all things in the Kingdom of God, even witnessing and debating with enemies of the Gospel must be done with godly wisdom. Honestly, when we begin to move in signs, wonders, and miracles, the gainsayers will be silenced. We must have more than just a message, it is imperative that we can produce the power of the miraculous. That is really the proof in the pudding.

John Marshall said:
Jessu stood SILENTLY before Pontius Pilate, "Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."(Matthew 27:11 NASB).

Was He a wimp? NO!!!

Do believers have to answer every dumbfounded charge made against them? No. Absolutely not.

I do not have time to twitter. As time permits, I will rise to present truth in the face of atheistic allegations.

"" has researched answers to every athestic question. Sendn all atheists there in a hurry.
We talked about something somewhat similar to this at church on Sunday, and how just as you feel sore when you are out of shape and do physical exercise, the same applies to our Christian walk - if we aren't "in shape" reaching the lost, we get out of shape and feel very sore... We also saw a video about a man who fell in a hole and many people from different religions stopped by to offer advice on how to get out of the hole... (i.e. meditate and you'll get out of it, another person said "there is no hole!", etc.) Jesus came along and helped the man out of the hole. How often do we as Christians help people "out of the hole", literally come along side them and help them out? I think one thing we tend to do is give advice, etc. but not demonstrate and live what should be happening. Imagine if our actions matched our words! We need to GET MOVING and get rid of the "flab"!
I have found it far more powerful to preach the Gospel through the way I live my life. If I go out of my house every day with a prayer that God will use me to reach others for Him, He never fails to bring someone across my path who needs a smile, a hug, or a kind word. Ifthat person needs more, the Holy Spirit guides me and gives me the words they need to hear. The world is hurting and longing for Him, even if they don't know it yet. Of course not everyone we witness to will respond positively, but we can still pray for those who are believing the lies of the enemy, and should be. Basically, when we practice what we preach and live our lives as Christ taught us to, we will find that we have a greater impact on the world than we ever could with our words.
Years ago I was part of a Christian AOL chat room...I made alot of nice Christian friends....but since it was an open chat room, many, many athiests, witches, and satanists would come in and challenge and provoke the believers in Christ. I found that mostly they were not open to listen, or consider anything...thier minds were made up. Many in the room would get nearly violent(and they were the Christians), and offensive...and that usually just helped thier "cause". I found that the ones who argued Christianity were calm and simply stated thier claim. The other AMAZING factor that I found in each "non-christian"...was that nearly ALL of them had been raised or active in church at one time. Many times I would ask them about thier history with Christianity. They knew the bible well....but most of them, at one point or another they had been hurt by a Christian, or a church.

Maybe that is why we are challenged to Ephesians 5 living.....and why the gifts of the Spirit should be seen in our daily walks. And maybe the many public sins of "celebrity" ministers on TV hurt the "cause" of Christ.

Like Juanita...I am saying...WHERE ARE THE STANDARD BEARERS? Who will rise up out of apathy, slumber, lukewarmness and be the salt and that the light breaks through into every bit of darkness like Juanita is seeing on Twitter.

I don't twitter or I would have helped extend love and compassion to those who do not yet "see the light".
Yes, I have alot to say on this. Unfortunately I have to pick up a rental vehichle to do a Kids Against Hunger palm Beach county event in the Tampa / Saint Petersburg area over the weekend packaging 30,000 eals for Nicauragua so i cannot give it the time I would like to....

are Chrisitans wimps - yes...and no...

I would ask are most people in AMERICA who call themselves of Christ (chrisitan ???? supposed to be christlike) wimps..

and there are some causes..... and our country is reaping the consequences... backslidden - heathen controlled government

we as chrisitnas have een endoctrinated to belive to AVOID CONFRONATATION and CONFLICT at ALL COSTS... and for that ideology and philospophy we are being systematically enslaved..

The main reason - and where all threads come out of is once again the forbidden zone (of course it is sedcuing spirits and teachings of demons behind it) is DOCTRINAL MATTERS.... TEACHING - doctrine simply means teaching

as it s true that you are what you eat so itis spiritually also...
desert, desert, desert - i become weak and wimpy in body....

and so NOW THE BODY OF CHRIST is weak and wimpy in america (outside its a lack of teaching in many places- inside aerica its an abundance of sedcutive introverted teaching rather than a go out to others teaching) because of its diet and selection of the food it decides to support, finance and feed itself. Like a child who will choose only candy and dessert we abandon the teachers and preachers who give us the ballances diet for the candies and deserts ONLY...

1 Tim 4:1-2
4:1 The Great Apostasy
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy,

devils teaching - gods people - som will pay attention and be sedcued into the lie...

1 thess.... becuase they believ not the love of the truth - a strong delusion..........we must love the truth - all the truth....all all scripture.....

2 Tim 3:12 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All Scripture (not just the desert and candy) is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

many are ill equippped becuase o insuffiecient teaching today - thereby lay down at the first challenge by the heathen - unbelieving. why would i be intimidated. I if I am not practicing sin and have turned to od in repentance and placed my faith in jesus Christ dying, buried and rose again for me - why would I be intimidated by a satan worshipping rebel against God almighty??? Thats who is confronting me, that who i am confronting. that is the position of any person who still goes there own way and does there own things isaiah 53:6 ...all we like sheep have gone astray... Apostle peter ///but now have returned to the bishop of our soul...

they are on there way to an everlasting punishment and hell, a lake of fire, torent and where the worm will eat aat them and never die..... why are we intimidated??? why are we wimpy?

i know I know where is your love brother, God is Love.... watch this. while you sit quiet, or being 'freindly - eveangelism - whcih by the way i cannot find a scriptural precedent for - but rather always see john the baptist, jesus and the aposoles delivering the SPOKEN WORD OF GOD.... as did the early christians...'they' went 'everywhere' - the LORD CONFIRMING THE WORD - NOT THE BEING NICE - THE WORD!!!

YES, BE NICE TOO, bu without the word?? how can they be saves.... Romans 10: probably vs 14-15 thru 17, maybe to 20... faith comes BY HEARING AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD
the gospel - the message is the power of god to salavation - the gospel - not some nice thing you do, yEs, do good to all escpecially the household of faith - BUT without the word you have done NOTHING .... IF THEY DO NOT WANT JESUS then why do you call them friend?? (tons of scripture on this also - but no time)...o.k. just one adulterers and adultreesees....whoever loves (phileo - friend - frienship) the world mAkes themselves and ENEMY OF GOD JAMES 4:1-4 PROBABLY TO 6-7-8 IS better to get the gras and gravity of what the Lord is saying .. and corintians talks about fellowship, partneship, concord, agreement and contasts the chrisitan with other outside influences....................yes the world and the age havegotten into the church and endoctrinated it andfed it is seducing teachings inspired by demons and now te churches - many of them are sick and weak... I am amazed...even as i witness on facebook, so many that say they are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers - they are nothing but new age philosophres and witches....... i find only several people out of hundreds on my list of friends as well as the tens of thousands through there walls and lists even willing to SPEAK THE WORD OF THE LORD....these are NOT APOSTLES OR PROPHETS......
further if there doctrine is not correct, if they teach what is false - you shoulc not be afraid of that one...even jesus comlimented the church and he is the same for testing their doctrine in the revelation Judgement of churches...and said you tested them and found them 'false' - GOOD JOB Jesus said..... i know wheres your love brother.....judge not lest you be judged....Jesus does not Judge - my beloved brothers and sisters - THAT IS 'ANOTHER JESUS' - ANOTHER GOSPEL' - AND ANOTHER SPIRIT - Jesus has judged, is judging and will Judge....In fact you better getserious with god like never before because the final judgement and the sorrows and birthpangs of the final judgement and Birthing of the kingdom of god have begun and will not stop until th full fruition of the manifest Kingdom of God on the earth....brace yourselves .... if you do not hear me and heed and prepare yourselves mentally and doctrinally you WILL FALL AWAY... many will BE DECIEVED....Jesus said so - these are SIGNS HE GAVE US OF THE END..and commanded us to WATCH AND PRAY..
i am planning on doing alot more teaching on this - I have been on a revelatory by the holy Spirit march for 2-3 months on deception and end time things to help the church be prepared - WE ARE NOT READY... we have already fainted (wimpy) in the american church - because we sat and got fat with candy and deserts - while the rest, a great portion s of the church of the lord Jesus Christ suffers in other countrys for a lack of some of he most basic teachings we had 20-30 years ago......the american church becuase we did not 'launch otu' - because we sat on 'programs' and did not go...because we sent only the smallest portions - in most csess less than 1% to reach the world - becuase of these things and more we have been SEDUCED - DECIEVED - AND SAT EVER LEARNING AND NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE ACKNOWLEDGING OF THE TRUTH - we have taken on A FORM OF GODLINESS but denying the PWOER THEREOF - thats the Holy Spirit of god that directs and epowers us to witness - out lights have gone dim, we are not ready to amke it through the midningt hour- our lamps are going out....we have lost our SALT - and have been disrepected and trampled under foot in our country....other chrisitans and churches and others places are more prepared than us becuas ethey live daily having to presever and endure but we are SOFT - and WIMPY - we are not ready, we are no DICIPLES in practice...pick up your cross and follow me Jesus said - our cross seems to be the manicure i did not get, or the person that looked crokked at me becuase I am a chrisitan..............apaotle paul said he 'died daily'......
do you LOVE YOUR LIFE - so much so you will preserve it no matter the cost?? Lots wife having been delivered form the judegment of Sodom and gommorah and the surounding cities 'loved her life in sodom' AND DISOBEYED THE command of the Lord given through the messangers (angel) and looked back wanting the lifestyle and she turned to a pillar of salt and perished...

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was (a new creation, a brand new man, an ambassador of christ, a King and priest of the Most High God, a witness, a dicssiple maker of nations, a witness to all creatures, chosen by god for this, elect by God for this, the body o Jesus Christ - what would He do?, the Army of the Lord, the Assembly of the Living God, the temple f the Living God, etc, etc. ))

apostle james says, by God the Holy Spirit...those who are not DOERS OF THE WORD forget who they are

Rev 2:2-7
2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent. 6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."'
even though they had many things correct Jesus says - correct these others or i will snuff out your light
first love = Jesus and first works = witnessing to all the world

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Matt 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Matt 24:9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.

Matt 24:10 then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

Matt 24:11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

Matt 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love (agape - only chrisitan ave in their heart by te holy Spirit) of many will grow cold.

Matt 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

just side note - a REAL apostle or prophet or evangelist even pastor or teacher that does not ever preach or teach repentanc is either fake or not properly trained or been seduced somewhere along the line of life....
Jesus christ and all real apsotle, prohets, etc always proclaim repentance as entrance to God and true faith in Jesus is NOT the faith of Christ once for all delivered to the saints UNLESS IT IS A CALL TO REPENTANCE...and there is no forgiveness withour repentance...jesus commanded us to 'preach repentacne for the remission of sins - as ongoing growing chrisitans we will have to repent of dead works as the word of god is tauth we willsee we have not done things Gods way and need to repent from the dead work Hebrews 6;1-3.... for many this seems like a wied thing i say but this is of Truth Chrisitanitys founding basics...

2 Thess 2:1-3
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means;

2 Thess 2:3.....unless the falling away comes first,

and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

2 Thess 2:5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

2 Thess 2:8-9
9 The coming9-12is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion , that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thess 2:6
6 And now you know what is restraining,

Here we see the restraint being taken off and judgement beginning - JESUS is being revealed as Judge and releasing judgements all the way until the wrath of God is complete

Rev 5:1-5
5:1 The Lamb Takes the Scroll
And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice,"Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."

Rev 5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;

Rev 6:1 First Seal: The Conqueror
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see." 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. 3 Second Seal: Conflict on Earth

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

5 Third Seal: Scarcity on Earth
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."
7 Fourth Seal: Widespread Death on Earth
When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
Matt 24:3Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,"Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love (AGAPE - ONLY CHRISITANS HAVE IT) of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Matt 26:1
"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
29 The Coming of the Son of Man
(Mark 13:24-27; Luke 21:25-28)
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 The Parable of the Fig Tree
(Mark 13:28-31; Luke 21:29-33)
"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near — at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
36 No One Knows the Day or Hour
(Mark 13:32-37; Luke 17:26,27,34,35; 21:34-36)
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
45 The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant
(Luke 12:41-48)
"Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25
25:1 The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins
"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6 "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
11 "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying,'Lord, Lord, open to us!' 12 But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'
13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

14 The Parable of the Talents
(Luke 19:11-27)
"For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
20 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' 21 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.' 23 His lord said to him,'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'
26 "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
29'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

31 The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations
"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand,'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
44 "Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45 Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

sorry people have a previuos engagement i will have to leave it here for these scriptures....and if we can get together on this what i say will make more sense to you...

like on brotherexcellently said by the Holy Spirit -

Jesus only promised us a CROSS and on the other side of that etrnal life...... its time to count the cost, pick up your cross and follow Him
No, I don't think Christians are wimps. I just think the meaning behind "what it means to be a Christian" has gotten so watered down and distorted that the majority of Christians don't know the true meaning of what it means to be a Christian anymore. Keith Green put it well, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore then going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger." The Bible clearly tells us to tell people about God. If no one tells them, how will they ever be saved?

I don't want to get into theology, because I just believe the Bible. Period. What the Bible says is God's truth.

Here's what I think we're seeing:

From the Atheist perspective:

When Christians challenge their beliefs, they get angry. Why do they get angry? Because their heart is being stirred up. Do they know the true reason they are getting angry? No, I don't think so. The Bible says:

"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14

Because they do not have spiritual discernment, they cannot discern the truth you are speaking. BUT, by speaking the truth with the Holy Spirit, you can pass on spiritual discernment to an atheist if their heart is open to seeking God.

From the Christian perspective:

The church today is very cookie-cutter. Much emphasis is placed on saying a "magic" prayer and that's it. So, when you go to a church believing you just have to say a prayer and that's it, you're buying into the cookie-cutter belief that you are saved, so what more do you have to do? The truth is that the Bible calls us to "take up our crosses" like Jesus did. Jesus also says "I came not to bring peace, but a sword." Jesus was sent to earth to stir up our hearts for God, not live in harmony and oneness with the world (sounds a lot like the New World Order, doesn't it?) We are to do the same as Jesus. In conclusion, being a Christian isn't just going to church on Sunday.

From the Christian and Atheist perspective:

A popular phrase both Christians and atheists use today is "Don't judge people." Many people are under the delusion that we are not to judge anyone's actions. The truth is that the Bible DOES call us to judge people's actions, based on how their actions align with the Bible. Think about it, if we didn't look at how someone's actions align with the Bible, we would be no better than the atheists. We would think that murder, homosexuality, etc. are just fine because, hey, "we're not to judge anyone." If there is no judgment, there are no rules, and you end up with a false utopia that is in fact chaos.
If I knew how to use twitter I would be right there with you! You should see the fights I get into on myspace with those poor atheists...they can't stand me....which I take as a compliment! Anyway, if you ever need me to help you just email me and I will be there to snag those anti-Christian bigots! If it is on Twitter you will have to instruct me on how to send a message there...since I am completely twitter illiterate!

I realized my thoughts aren't done yet :)

I have been out in the wide web of conflict you refer to. Many times the forums or tweets or posts feel like an "us vs them" and that is most likely how unbelievers view it as well.

So here is the question: How do we as Christians, use the technological tools of our generation to turn that around from being a battle of conflicting views and negative arguments to an experience where we can speak Truth and lovingkindness that allows unbelievers to see Christ's love in us? How do we move the conversations past "your stupid and your wrong"?

In my opinion, one of the most important things is to counter the atheist posts. If we don't counter, those watching can easily be sucked in because they only hear one side of the story. The atheists often train each other on how to defeat the arguments of the 'theists' as they call us. And, this is really bad - they discount first person accounts! Many are hardened, angry & will be hard to reach. But, they are sowing their 'theology' and, if we don't counter wil continue to grow on twitter.

Hey Juanita:
I agree with you that we need to step out in faith...but some of us will take many tentative steps first. In the meantime we do what we know how to do...we are encouraged by hearing the testimonies of others who stepped out of their comfort zone & we encourage others by are simple steps of faith. God Bless You Juanita.
You kinda reminding me of Paul & Mark...

Debrah, thanks for your reply. You have been a blessing to me and this forum.

Here is a simple exercize that any person can do. Search on the hash tag #atheist. You will read some pretty awful things. Pray and ask God what to do. As you feel stirred, just retweet a conversation and disagree. Don't feel compelled to be drawn into their arguments -- that is what a bunch of them like to do all day is to find someone who'll waste their time in senseless debate. But, this is what the scripture says...
We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.

Just saying the truth is something the Holy Spirit can use for the listeners. And, it is remarkable simple once you do it a time or two, especially if you are not compelled. Someone posted earlier in this discussion that Jesus was silent before Pilate. We can choose when to and when not to speak. However, we also know that what I wrote earlier that Hitler said it true, If a lie is told often and loudly, it will be believed. They invalidate God, Christ, Christians, etc. We need to be witnesses. It is our calling!
Rev. Thoma, Valia and Laureen -- all excellent thoughts.

Laureen, if you join twitter and follow me - I'll definitely call on you for help in the future!
I understand your outrage, and agree with it. Let me first of all say I don't know this to be true, but it could be that not enough of our informed believers about creationism have as yet taken up using Twitter as a major way to communicate. For example, I am a pastor, we have a web page and a facebook page. I do not have time to spend many more hours using the latest technology. We are now in a fund-raising campaign to purchase the necessary equipment from Kingdom to do the mass distribution of CD's and DVD's. We will undoubtedly use this ministry to confront others with the truth of God's Word about the beginning of all things. I have had extensive contacts with atheists through the years. They are all "baiters," just out to irritate and cause Christians to get upset with their weak and pathetic atheistic philosophies. Yes, Paul did confront the ungodly whenever he could. But also remember, that right after his experience at Mars Hill he wrote in his first letter to the Corinthians: "And I, brethren, when I came to you came not with excellency of speech or wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." (I Cor. 2:1-2) You are right to feel the way you do, but I believe with just a little bit more time, good, solid Bible folks will catch up with the technology, and you'll get all the support you need.
