Critical Christians.

Have you ever encounted a fellow Christian that you felt was critical and quick to judge. I have met a few.  Sometimes I do okay with them.  Sometimes I don't.   How do you respond to this type of Christian.   Do you look for ways to keep the relationship open?  Do you choose to respond calmly despite the temptation to do otherwise?   Do you simply decide to avoid them and/or warn others to avoid them?   Ok at least one of the things mentioned above is a wrong response.  However, it is a human response.

How would you guide a friend or mentee who was having difficulty with someone they found critcal or judgemental?

  • Don't recall saying anything about anyone's identity.

  • Your identity is not dependent on what another person says. Your identity is in Christ. It should not matter if another person is critical or really positive. You are called to love them with the love that Christ has filled your life with.

I am an apologist so I go around dealing in the area of truth. Pastors pastor a flock so they usually go around very sensitive to emotional and psychological issues. Christians all have different personality types with some being more negative and others more positive. Don't try to put everyone in the same mold as God uses all types. Just learn to love others with the love that God is pouring into your life.

    May God bless you!!
