John 19:30 When He had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." John 4:34 "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work. Heb 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! As I think about two thousand years ago, the day we call “Good Friday”, I wonder about some things, like, did the Pharisees really think they could get rid of this threat to their power base, did Satan really think he could get the Son of God permanently out of the way? Jesus taught the truth of the Kingdom. He set people free from sin and it’s dominion. Souls were being changed then and even so more now, PRAISE GOD, and His enemies could not and can not tolerate such things. Little did they realize the truth of what they would accomplish that day. Little did they know that Jesus would FINISH the work He came to do and forever provide the freedom He had preached to all who would accept it. It was then that Satan learned the full meaning of God’s declaration “He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." Salvation was finished and three days later, oh three days later, He arose and lives forevermore! HALLELUJAH! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME! All Scripture NIV
