In the US, we are a nation ruled by the people. If you think about it, you will realize that our government and society around us is a reflection of what is happening in the church. We, the people of God, are unfruitful. It shows in decay all around us. So, what does that mean for us? For some... -They are demoralized. -They are discouraged. -They are close to hopeless, waiting for the heaven. For others, what does this mean? It is time to arise and learn what it means to be the people of God. We cannot count on our nation being godly. It is time to see what God means – we are supposed to be a Christian nation, a holy people. The walls of our society are broken down and the gates that held back unrighteousness are destroyed. Nehemiah lived in a time when the walls were broken down. We would do well to follow in his footsteps: 1) Confession. Nehemiah confessed the things he and his people had done wrong. This downward slide in the US has happened on our watch. We need to confess! 2) Consecration. Nehemiah consecrated himself - he offered himself for service to rebuild the walls. Every one of us live in areas where the walls are crumbling. We need look no further than to the things/people and circumstances that we interact with every day. We need to consecrate ourselves - offer ourselves for service to rebuild! 3) Commissioned. Nehemiah was commissioned by God and King to rebuild the walls. If we confess, if we consecrate ourselves - God will assign us a commission: specific things to do to rebuild. What is the end result? God desires to set aside a Christian people, a Holy Nation, a Christian Nation to do the work of extending his Kingdom. This is what it means to be fruitful for Christ. It means to make skilled followers of all nations, starting right in our own communities. We can easily over spiritualize the concept of what it means to be a people of God. We can think of it as some type of ‘invisible’ thing that exists but cannot be seen. God intends his Kingdom to be seen, He intends for us to make disciplened followers of NATIONS. As that happens, it should be visible. We need to learn how to not just talk about being the people of God but how to be fruitful as a Christian nation, a nation is seen doing the Kingdom work He has called us to. We should be seeing the fruit! Paradigms For this holy Christian nation to exist with the tangible fruit of making skilled followers of every nation starting in our own communities, we need a new paradigm. We are talking about seeing and doing things we haven't done before. We are talking about fruitfulness like we have never experience in our life times. How do we get from where we stand to where we need to be? Consider these things... Follow fruitfulness. Over and over (and over and over) scripture tells us to be fruitful. If you aren't - find and follow fruitfulness. Live life like it is your only chance to make a difference. Because, that is the way it is! Watch what happens as a group of people begin to live out Christian Nation principles in the Endless Mountain Region of PA. We're plowing new ground. We're not just thinking of new strategies and doing them... we're rethinking down to the DNA level of what we do as Christians. Is it working. To put it mildly, I'd say, "The lid is coming off!!!" And, we are ONLY just beginning! More on the Endless Mountains region HERE.

  • Hi Steve.

I agree so much. That's why it's good for Christians to encourage each other to tarry on, huh? On that one follow I mentioned, I just felt a real heaviness about it. I prayed and am fasting through and I feel much better about it now. I am asking the Lord that someday walking in Eternity, that, that person and I can lay our crowns at Jesus' feet together. I have new age followers and I certainly don't mind at all.

I'm not sure where in the body I am at, maybe the little toe, :-))

I am diagnostic technician so I try to view the Lord at lot as Design Engineer, but I always worry a lot that I am going to be taken wrong and I never want to cause any problems in the body of Christ or really any where.

I tried to explain to another technician who thinks logically in his work, not to switch hats when thinking about the natural world-look at the interdependencies that have to be satisfied, in the same way he does in his work, but he couldn't make the connection, so I submitted to the friendship and just pray about it.

I spent 24 years of my adult life in party central even though my sisters and mom were Christians. They planted a lot of seeds in me and continually prayed over them and the Lord came to my rescue. So I try to do that.

But some are called to hold back the tide; to hit it head on and I totally agree with that. I am so grateful I found this link on twitter for Kingdom Insight and Kingdom Insight allowed me to join. It's a wonderful place to share, to ponder and to pray for one another.

    Thanks Steve,

  •      One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is Neh 5 vs 7, after Nehemiah travels around Jerusalem ingognito to investigate the situation, the scripture says that he CONSULTED WITH HIMSELF to figure out what to do.  The Lord commisioned Nehemiah to do a certain task in life, so he was trained and equipted by the Lord to do this work.

We are at a point of moral decay and confusion in our nation that requires some radicalism to turn things around and get things going in the right direction.  What is written in the OT is instructive for us, God was always at work raising up kings, priests and prophets to bring about reform when it was needed.

  • Hi Jaunita.

I so agree. The decay is in a rapid spiral downward. I work for a University and you can see the decay in body exposure a little more in each class that comes through.

Each step down becomes the new reference. It's like you can boil a frog in a pan of water and he will never know the temperature has been changed if you turn up the heat ever so slowly.

I prayer walk. As I run my work orders in different buildings, I pray over the students and the Professors and staff in my mind. I tell everybody I meet, "It's a great day!" Sometimes they beat me to it and say, "It's a great day, Mark!"

Most of our Professors really are nice. A Professor told me, "Mark, I spend so much time preparing lessons and doing papers, I don't have time for indepth thought."

As you pointed out, only with an anchored reference [Scripture] do we realize just how rapid the decay is.

That's why I am so glad you made a website like this, so we can come here and get recharged.

I tweet on twitter. I try to mix my tweets up to attract a variety of followers and in my short bio, I say I follow back. I automatically follow back new followers. Tonight, I was looking through the new followers to see any Christians or positive motivators I could list and there it was, Lucifer Tweets and its bio said, "You know who I am." To be honest, it scared me to death. I started praying and unfollowed. I emailed my Christian sister to get her feeling if I should let that person follow me. She said, "No, Mark. Give no place to the devil." So I blocked them. But if you will, would you pray with me that the Lord would come to that person's rescue? Thanks.

I love these thought provoking forums.

    Thanks Juanita.
