Joshua chapter 6 verses 1 - 4 shows that God knew the exact diameter of the moon: "March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days." - Joshua 6:3 6 days of marching around the city of Jericho x 360 degrees in a circle = 2160 2160 miles = "the exact diameter of moon" in miles (Technically, the exact diameter of the moon is 2159.14062 miles, which can be rounded off to 2160.) NOTE: I am not the person who discovered this, it was someone on YouTube. I do not take any credit for discovering this interesting fact.

  • WOW, talk about a stretch. Where does the moon come into any thing said in Joshua 6?

Really You got this from VenomFangX? His young earth Creation post on u tube have been bedunked so many times. You can do better then this guy.

His guy does a good job with debunking VenomFangX
Why do people laugh at creationists over 30 parts to this video.
    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Why+do+people+laugh+at+...

Some of the parts are not directed at VenomFangX some are on that creation nut thats in jail for not paying his taxes.

Watch a few. It does the brain some good.
  • I suppose this is the same VenomFangX who claimed that the Grand Canyon was formed "in about five minutes".
You might want to check out Thunderf00ts series "Why people laugh at Creationists": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS5vid4GkEY . I can't remember entirety but I think he covers the moon thing.

Nick, I'm not the one who found this fact, it was the popular Christian YouTube user VenomFangX.

I found this great site that explains some more scientific facts found in the Bible:

  • As I stated already

I guess that is why you never respond to anything of substance. You have a wild imagination when it comes to justifying your skeptism and then you avoid arguments by not addressing them.

    Typical atheist...

    God Bless...
  • Harris stated, "You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. There wasn't a single element of fact in this entire response of yours."

  • Wrong again...

Here is what Dennett says, "After Darwin, God’s role changes from being the designer of all creatures, great and small, to being the designer of the laws of nature, from which natural selection can unfold, to being just perhaps the chooser of the laws."

    Dawkins concurs

"In a universe of electrons and selfish genes, blind physical forces and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt, other people are going to get lucky, and you won’t find any rhyme or reason in it, nor any justice. The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference."

Chance didn't cause anything for Denett or for Dawkins. Denett argues for natural selection and Dawkins argues for blind physical forces and genetic replications.

The fact is that Chance is not something. It is nothing.

Dennet arguments that chance is the driver of our free will is merely an argument believed on the basis of blind faith without evidence. Ironically, it is the same thing that he condemns Christians supposedly for.

    These guys are all hypocrites!

    God Bless...
  • Harris stated, "Chance doesn't cause anything and this is a well known fact in philosophy. Physical states do so you can't escape determinism even by appeal to the sub-atomic world since they are merely physical states.
This is a well known fact in philosophy? I think some very prominent philosophers would disagree with you."

Like who? LOL Harris, you are just hilarious!! Chance doesn't cause anything and never could. Everyone in the field of philosophy now recognizes this. I challenge you to give me a name of anyone who believes this... LOL

    God Bless...
  • Harris, you stated, "where chance is an essential part of the world's unfolding"

Chance doesn't cause anything and this is a well known fact in philosophy. Physical states do so you can't escape determinism even by appeal to the sub-atomic world since they are merely physical states.

Chance is merely another name for coincidence. The Heisenberg Principle is meaningless and you are really talking about science that cannot be observed as the instruments used to observe that world affect the actions of the parts. The fact that we can't predict what takes place is merely a limitation on our knowledge and our ability to measure that reality.

As I stated, you are just energy that somehow got twisted up. Once you untwist, you will be gone. Harris doesn't exist, you are only energy so you are really connected to everything else. This is why I believe all atheists are really pantheist. Your idea that you exist is merely an imagined one. If you believe in free will, you are one of the very few atheist I have met that believe in it. in my vast number of discussion, most atheists laugh at me for asserting free will. Free will is an idea that comes from Christianity because we have the choice to accept His Son as the Savior of the World.

May His Grace and Peace be with you...
  • I am not agreeing with Valia about Joshua... I believe it is a coincidence too; however, the point I was making is that there is no intentional act in atheism since everything including your brains physical states follow cause and effect relationships.

Harris does not exist in atheism. You are only a coincidence and your belief and actions are directed by your mental physical states. You are merely a passing moment in the vast world of energy that makes your life meaningless since you don't have a life at all. You are simply energy that somehow got tangled up and will untangle at death.

May the Grace and Peace of God be with you...
  • Harris,

I have a Masters in Philosophy.... do you? I am not surprised you don't know what begging the question is...

If everything is a coincidence, then the measurement equality of the moon and the march is also a coincidence.

This is classic begging the question. In other words, it doesn't matter what Valia says, you are always going to end up begging the question because Valia could never prove to you that it was not a coincidence. You have accepted the premise that everything is a coinincidence. Your first premise is that everything is a coincidence no matter what the evidence. This is the major atheistic premise and mantra that determines their worldview.

There is no minds in atheism, just brains and physical states. The physical states create activites and all these activities are merely a coincidence in atheism since nothing exists outside the physical world.

Atheism is very silly, that is why everyone rejects it...

    God Bless...
  • If it is a coincidence, it must be true. That is the foundation of thought in atheism. Creation is a coincidence, life is a coincidence, you are a coincidence, your selective morality is a coincidence, thought is a coincidence, etc...

I think you are begging the question here because you call everything a coincidence.... :)
