How to start a truck stop ministry

I found a great article with helpful tips for starting a truck stop ministry. I took some of the best tips and have compiled them below for anyone interested in starting their own trucker ministry.

1. Choose a truck stop for your ministry
The best way to reach a trucker is at a truck stop as that's where they stop to rest and eat. You might want to choose a truck stop at a busy interstate so you reach as many truckers as possible. You will need to talk to the owner of the truck stop to make sure it is ok to start a ministry at your chosen truck stop.

2. Have plenty of ministry supplies
Have plenty of Bibles, tapes, and pamphlets on hand so you can be sure you have enough supplies to hand out to each trucker.

3. Schedule coffee time
Schedule a "coffee time" where truckers can get a free cup of coffee and a doughnut and hear the Word of God. This would be an excellent time to hand out ministry supplies. You might want to hold coffee time twice an hour so every trucker gets a chance to hear the Word of God and get a free cup of coffee.

4. Minister to truckers right in the parking lot!
You need to be careful when you approach truckers - you don't want to accidentally wake up a trucker from a much needed nap! But, if you see a trucker sitting in his truck listening to music, you could talk to him about God and share your testimony.
