I have talked to many church members whom are collecting information for the possibility of replacing equipment for the church. Audio, video, projection or lighting; does not seem to matter; price is always the main issue. Do I understand that; of course I do. Price is very important; to a point!! They tell me that they found it cheaper on the internet for certain items they may be trying to purchase. In most cases the items they are searching for are heavy hitters like cameras or video projectors, large video mixers or even audio mixers. I take my job very seriously in making sure churches get the best price I can possibly give them and the best service I can provide. But time after time, price seems to outweigh customer service, quality and even knowledge of product. I warn the customer that the price is much lower for a reason and sometimes I cannot even tell for certain why. They receive the product and sure enough, they are missing something that would normally be included here at Kingdom or most anywhere else. In the current times we are in, this is going to be happening even more. Have you seen the new commercial where a customer is at a car wash and the man is telling them "Read the sign , "Car Wash!!, do you see anything that says anything about "Rinse?" Because as the picture is showing, their car is all soapy. Well, it is the same scenario when buying that product from someone whom sells it way below everyone elses prices. So, the next time you are looking to make a purchase, please take in consideration the knowledge of the person you are buying it from, quality of that item, customer service after the purchase, warranty and many other variables. They are truly a very important part of any purchase. In addition, I cannot tell you how many customers I talk to that say "I need to purchase a new sound system, we purchased a cheap system and now we need to replace it." Money well spent...........Not really!! Do I understand that sometimes you have to crawl before you can walk, sure I do; I am just saying crawl carefully. Thanks for reading!! • Barb,
So true! For the longest time I used to buy the cheapest items (for all types of things from household goods to sound equipment). Now, I buy mid-ground to the 'commercial' grade. For an example... I'm an amateur radio operator....and have used those little cheap FRS (family radios) you can buy at your local Big-Box retail store. But you get what you pay for... those cheap little radios break, or they sound bad. I now only use commercial radios. Yes they cost a little more (upwards of $35 a piece instead of $10), but the audio quality is so much better and they are more robust and able to take more abuse. In the long run, I end up with a much better product and longer life span!
