Too many online communities are a mile wide and an inch deep. KingdomInsight is different. We are real people who are joining together in the great challenge of learning how to advance God’s kingdom. Collectively, even now, our membership represent hundreds of years of experience. Let’s share what we have learned and encourage others. Together, let’s make a difference! What can we do to excel in becoming the community God intends? Plus, here are 3 simple steps everyone can take! 1. Welcome newcomers. Do you know we added over 50 members this past week? And most of them have no friends or only one or two. We all need to be part of the welcome wagon. It only takes a moment to check the member tab, see the newbees and send a friends request! Then, when we see one of our friends make a nice blog or ask a great quesiton... it only takes a moment to send a sincere e-mail to them. These things are soooo appreciated and build real community! 2. Share our hearts and RESPOND. Several conversations are running where people are sharing their godly dreams. I know a few people have encourage me in my vision. This is so energizing. We all should be encouraging each other! Here and Here. 3. The scripture says to stir up one another to love and good deeds. For our community, that is simple. Every few days – start a conversation that will PROVOKE love and good deeds. And, comment on other people’s “love and good deeds” conversations. 4. Share YOUR ideas on how to build this community!

  • Lisa - good response on the friends request. I love having lots of friends, but some people prefer to be very selective!

I am really please with how the forum is developing. We have lots of posts that are insightful and meaningful questions. I know some forums are for chit-chat and that is great, too -- but, this one is targeted toward 'meaty' exchanges. I am glad to see that developing!

Just a thought on the friends thing. Not all of us want to collect a large number of friends. I'm more interested in seeing what has been written in the forum. I have friends hanging in limbo in the invite location because I have not decided what to do with them. It is sometimes hard to determine from their pages if they are someone I want to give friends status. I also find juggling a bunch of emails distracting. Even the forum can become time consuming.

As for Ideas to build the community. I think keeping it pleaseant, insightful, encouraging as it is now will build the kind of community we want. It is nice to see what others are thinking about.
