Purpose in your Heart

Dan 1:8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Ruth 1:17-18 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me." 18 When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her. Acts 11:23 When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. Daniel was totally unaware of how he would impact people over centuries right on to our day, but the fact is when he set his heart to be obedient to God he laid down an undeniable challenge to all of us. Will YOU and I be loyal to this God who sacrificed His very life on our behalf? Jesus gave His all to pay a bill we could never pay and we can do no less than return that love by living TOTALLY for Him. We so often moan and groan about our problems and struggle needlessly because we don’t, or don’t want to, realize that in our attempt to control life ourselves we are rejecting God’s help. The Israelites were told in Haggai, Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the oil and whatever the ground produces, on men and cattle, and on the labor of your hands." (Hag 1:10-11) But some say, “I don’t know what God wants of me” and that sounds like a valid question on the surface, but how much effort have WE put forth into knowing Him and His ways? Do you spend (make that INVEST) time seeking to know more? God’s Word is filled with all the wisdom, directions and examples we need and all we have to do is study it. Imagine one day looking Jesus in the eye and having to tell Him that you just didn’t have the time to give Him; you had too many other things going on. If- WE PURPOSE (resolve, make up our minds) that we are going to make HIM our priority in EVERYTHING, we will have His peace and all that HE HAS PURPOSED FOR US. All Scripture NIV

  • Its so true. The more we make God a priority in our life the more we will see His Hand in our life. People are always complaining about how they dont see God working in their lives, but how mnay of those people have God as #1 in their lives?
  • The Bible also says, "In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
