Street Preaching Impact

Johnny and I have been impacted by seeing street preaching and its fruit. I shared in this blog: https://kingdominsight.ning.com/profiles/blogs/open-air-preachingstreet I am now hearing about whole churches involving themselves in open air preaching. WOW!!! What are you hearing?

  • Valia,
The purpose of this group is to address the very thing that you fear might happen. Street preaching ALWAYS brings a tumult. We see this in Jesus' ministry, and the apostles, and down through the history of the church. The reason is that when Jesus' Gospel is preached, it pricks men's hearts.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

What that means is that under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, preaching exposes the thoughts and intents of the heart. Out of the heart come the issues of life. It is the heart that is being dealt with by the preacher. He is bringing out what the audience really is in their hearts. What you see on those tapes is facades being broken down and truth coming out, and it is not pretty. But it is necessary.

It is through the preaching that God is able to bring people to see the very evil that they refuse to see. Concerning the heart:

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The preacher's job is to bring people face to face with what is in their hearts. Sometimes it gets really ugly. You can liken the preacher to God's garbage men. We open up the garbage can of men's hearts and dump them out on the sidewalk for all to see. Then we hose them out with the Word of God.

I encourage you to post the links of any you found interesting. Since I know almost all of the campus preachers, and have preached with them, I can answer any questions that might arise. I see that as a large part of my ministry.

Please read my post in the Street Preaching in the News discussion. The church is about to be swept into a place of great pain, and they are ignorant of what it is all about. Post whatsoever you want. Do not be afraid of stirring up controversy. It is through the controversy that people are forced to come face to face with what really rules their heart.

  • I've seen some videos on YouTube of a street preacher who goes around the country to different universities and does open air preaching on campus. Just like Jesus, he is often ridiculed and mocked. But, slowly, people do start to listen and ask questions. It is interesting to see!

I subscribed to their e-mail newsletter awhile back, and they send out updates on how their street preaching ministry is affecting people. I am hesitant to post the links to the videos because not everyone may agree with this street preacher's tactics, but if anyone would like me to share the YouTube channel, send me a message and I will email you the link.
