Why church bulletins are important to newcomers

Church bulletins are a very important aspect of welcoming new people to your church. When I go to a new church and am handed a bulletin, I immediately read through it. If you're anything like me, you do this as well, so you can rest assured that your church bulletin will be read by church guests, probably as soon as it is placed in their hands. Going to a new church, like any new environment, is intimidating, and the church bulletin can make all the difference in making people feel comfortable in your church. The church service being broke down hour by hour in the bulletin lets people know how things will go, when to sit, when to stand, when tithing takes place, what time Sunday school is, etc. However, the church bulletin should be a supplement to, and never replace, the welcoming atmosphere the church should have- greeters greeting people and answering any questions they have, and church members just generally being welcoming.
