#1 Make the decision to excel. It is not enough to want your church to succeed. The elements of success are not a secret. In a earlier Ministry Brief Update, we covered the most important element, a decision to succeed. We cannot build the Kingdom with mediocrity!
#2 Live the change. Doing the same things the same way produces the same results. Change starts with you changing. What needs to change? Maybe your mindset, your approach, how you spend your time and maybe your priorities. Perhaps you are not sure what to do. Don’t worry, there is help available. Here is where to get help. #3 Call your people to prayer and evangelism. Nothing happens without prayer. We know this. But, do we live it? That is the first place to double check – are you living the call, with prayer and evangelism as the focus? Next you will need a plan for how you will activate your people. Working your plan – that ensures you don’t just end up with a wish!

Every Truth is established by "two witnesses." So, allow me "to second" the above encouragement. Many churches and ministries have, mainly by familiarity of every day life, fallen into maintaining instead of enlarging (as in the second phrase of Jabez's prayer). Sadly, many have even fallen into dwindling and ceasing.
The secret to success in the Kingdom of God is OUTREACH VISION. Be PURPOSEFUL and INTENTIONAL with every activity in your church. With every activity, every time, go one step beyond the norm. Be DARING! I guarantee, YOU WILL BECOME A WOW FACTOR attracting the unsaved and unchurched to the saving Grace of the Lord!
Once you taste EVER-INCREASING EXCELLENCE, you will never want to return to mediocre maintenance. Just like Jabez did, make this a part of every prayer! "Lord, enlarge our territory!" This takes WORK and PERSEVERANCE--but this work has exponential eternal rewards.
