A child, resting in his father's arms is living fully in love. The child who has learned boundaries, when in the father's presence, will not leave the sidewalk to walk in the road.
However, if you remove the father's presence, allowing the child to walk unattended on the sidewalk, he may choose to explore walking in the road.
A child, walking along the sidewalk sees a red ball rolling into the road. The boundaries he has learned do not stop him from running into the road, but the strong arms of a loving father will hold him back.
By living in the Father's presence we understand the boundaries. When living in the fathers presence, the strength of his arms keep us from crossing boundaries.
Even when we have chosen to be God's child, we must learn to walk with him. The world is filled with balls rolling into the road, calling us to leave the father's presence.
We need to grow our faith, that firm belief that the Father's love is the way to life and happiness. Everything else is a ball rolling into the road.
Sometimes we have dry spells when it appears that Father has stepped out of the room. This is where our love for him is tested as is our determination to live in his love.
Our walk with God happens in our hearts, but we also live in the world. It is our opportunity to, as the world presents rolling red balls, to look to God and walk in his love.
We ought not be surprised by the wrong doing and unhappiness in the world. Any group of children who are not constrained by loving parents will make incredible messes.
Wrong doing and unhappiness in the world will continue until people learn to live in the Father's love. As we walk in the Father's love, we show others the way.
Prayer: Lord, teach us to walk in your love. In Jesus's name, Amen!
Discussion questions:
How do you walk with God?
How do you help others in this regard?
Do you agree with the thought above: We ought not be surprised by the wrong doing and unhappiness in the world. Any group of children who are not constrained by loving parents will make incredible messes.

I like the article and it brings forth lots of good points regarding walking with God.
I honestly can say I have walked with God in obedience to His calling. Has it been a perfect walk, no not at all. Has it been an easy road? Absolutely not. My own will (flesh) at times has caused me to go astray or just not done what God was impressing upon my heart to do.
Prior to reading this, my walk with God was suffering because I became focused on things and not HIM. Just recently, I made a conscience effort to leave that all things behind, and continue to seek the Lord with all my heart and listen intently to what God was saying and the direction he was moving me into.
When I walk in God's love, I walk as his child and his servant with the goal of serving others. For example, helping a friend in very difficult situation, and being there for her by encouraging her to lean upon God and not the world.
By being the hands and feet of our Jesus we can comfort others and let them know they are loved.
I believe, this is the love Jesus speaks about regarding: "loving thou neighbor like thyself' and 'doing unto others as you would like them to do unto you.'
When oppportunity knocks (and it will) at your door, please remember to pass on God's loving ways and words to others so they too may feel the love of Christ in their hearts and turn to Him.
Dora,
What a nice reply... I understand what you are saying, I have made this decision, too, just to concentrate on living Christ!
