And the years go by

It has been almost 7 years since my father died. It seems like forever and it seems like it was only days or weeks ago.

Here, at 51 years of age, I face the added change this year of gaining a grandson. It is our first grandchild. I look backward to the birth of the child that is now the mother. I was 24. Gathering stones together is the preparatory stage for making anything out of stones. It is hard work; dirty, grimy, painful when the fingers get between them as the stones come together.
