If this is your first time joining an online network, you may be asking yourself what the difference between a blog, a forum, and a group are. I'm here to answer these questions for you:
- A blog is simply an electronic diary where you can share your personal thoughts on a subject. Unlike most diaries however, a blog is public, enabling people to read your blog and post comments on each blog entry.
Usually, blogs focus on a particular subject. For example, you might have a blog all about street preaching or the end times. A blog can also chronicle a vacation or a road trip, so you could blog about a missions trip or a series of missions trips.
- A forum is an online discussion area that is divided into particular categories (i.e. Evangelism & Outreach
). Each category contains any number of discussions that you can post replies to or start your own discussion.
- A group is a mini network within an online network that focuses on one particular subject. For example, The Vine
is a group on Kingdom Insight that people can join specifically to focus on finding and fulfilling your destiny in Christ. You can post and reply to discussions within a group, and leave comments for the group as well.
Now that you know what a blog, a forum, and a group are, why not try out each of these features on Kingdom Insight? Have fun!
