Modern technology meets the church: CDs

Reach people with the technology that they are already using. People are listening to music on CDs, so incorporate CD technology as part of your outreach. Record your sermons, and then put them on a CD to be duplicated. Isn't is neat to think that people will be taking in God's Word on their CD player as a result of your church using modern technology like CDs to spread the Gospel? Read on for some ideas of how your church can hand out CDs to people:

Without further ado, here are some ideas of places to hand out church CDs:

  • Give CDs to church visitors. Don't just leave them on your church welcome table, rather, make it a point to personally hand a CD to each church visitor. They will see the CD as a gift, especially since you handed it to them instead of leaving it up to them to pick it up.
  • Hand out CDs at your church events: Barbecues, bake sales, yard sales, family movie nights, etc. Again, by handing out the CD people will appreciate that you took the time to talk to them and gave them a gift.
  • The next time you talk to someone who you know is not a Christian, give them a CD. You might want to wait until they start asking questions about God to give them a CD, or when they are having a bad day, etc. It's a good idea to have some CDs with you at all times because you might talk to someone in the grocery store about God and wish you had a CD with you to give to them.
  • Give two CDs to church members: one for them to keep and one to give to a friend. Or they could give out both, it's up to them. Encourage church members to give a CD to their non-Christian friends who are likely to have questions about God and will visit the church to get answers.
